The classic Happy portrait of family engaged with the viewer although traditional is more challenging than it looks. I have truly been blessed to know this family since big brother was a baby! And I could not be happier to create a portrait this lovely mother can proudly hang on her walls for the rest of her life. That is something we forget. These portraits will make her house, her home. They are more than instagram likes and Facebook Memories. They will be hung on the walls of whatever house they live in making their house a home. Quality happy portraiture becomes paramount. Walking into a space with their children smiling back at her memorializing the happiest and most fulfilling days of their lives is important. So being my most goofy self to be a tickle monster, a fart machine or a stuffed animal balancing act is exactly what is needed to have engaged happy kids. Part of creating these happy portraits is Not telling kids to smile, but to engage with them to get them to smile. Capturing real smiles is beautiful. Capturing play is magical. Capturing love is precious. As photographers this is our goal. Creating, pulling, and memorializing family’s in their happiest moments.
