EEK!
I know this lovely lady who I have been working with for a few years now. She took a chance on me as a newbie and has stuck with me since. She has come to feel as friend and I was happy to photograph her brand new baby son.
Newborn work is romanticized. It is hard work that requires patience, love, technique and investment. This work is not for everyone. I do believe that photographers should be comfortable with their gear, sufficient in their work (i.e. have practiced enough that they wont mess up a whole session and will rock the shots) and most of all comfortable handling little babies.
As a mom of four (including twins) a doula and a lactation educator- I have been around babies for the last decade. My work was finally where I needed it to be to risk shooting a newborn early this spring. I adore the work. I get to be around babies just long enough to remember I dont need anymore- and hey that is a win when you have 4 kids. Newborn photography truly is a skill. You should be aware that a lot of what is seen on the internet is composite work- Photoshop. When searching for a newborn photographer please find someone you trust. Someone that wont lay your baby on a pile of suitcases because they saw the image on pinterest and want to recreate it not knowing it is a composite image.... Scary. Please choose imagery that will work with your decor... Yep who knew that if all your images where photographed with purple and pink that only place they will match is the nursery... You will want some neutral images to match your home- so they can hang on your wall for a lifetime.
Okay- off the soap box- here are some gorgeous- timeless and classic newborn imagery i am so excited to to show off to you!
This session was a little over 2 hours long. He became very hungry after this image was taken. And we called the session. He gave us what we needed. And he looks like a doll baby in all his cuteness.
Thank you to the family for letting me share this gorgeous time in their life.
Thank you for taking a look. Please leave some love. Let momma know how perfect her son is! I am sure she knows- but we all love to hear it!
